Innovative Event ideas
Let’s kick off some brainstorming! It’s one of my favorite things to do — gather a group of people and bounce ideas around a room, table, virtual space OR a forum! So here we are!
I’ll kick us off with an idea I heard and LOVED!
This is for a training program for the underemployed and hard to employ persons:
- A local chef, renowned for their culinary expertise, leads the charge, turning simple ingredients into a feast for 20, symbolizing the transformation possible with the right support.
- We extend a special invitation to one of our cherished supporters to bring along 6-8 friends, to don the apron as sous chefs for a day. This isn’t just about cooking; it’s about cooking with a purpose.
- Together, the chef, our supporter, and their friends will not only prepare but also serve the meal, sitting down to dine with our program participants. This meal becomes a bridge, connecting worlds, sharing stories, and savoring the flavors of resilience and hope.
- And while there won’t be an ‘ask’ for support at this event, it serves as a powerful first step in weaving new supporters into the fabric of our mission.
This is more than a meal. It’s an evening of storytelling, of connection, and of laying the groundwork for a community that supports each other. An evening where every bite tells a story, and every story opens a heart.

Oh this is awesome. I love it @mary-r-snyder! I can imagine this would be an amazing way to introduce new prospective donors to your organization! Sort of like a vision meeting in disguise.
